Oh my heart. She is entirely too much cuteness.
Oh How Totally Adorable Leah Is.
Leah is "copying" a very good example....rock on Mama Megan. =) =)
leaves me wondering why I never caught on. Wait were those "csrriers" around when D & T were little ones???!!!!
Megan,
I have tried to figure it out but I haven't done so as of yet and don't believe I will be able to "get it". So I have to ask
when you said in this post " this kinda-crunchy mom is so stinkin' proud!", what do you mean by kinda crunchy ?? =) =)
More natural parenting, somewhat attachment (but not really) parenting
(breastfeeding, co-sleeping, babywearing, homemade baby food, cloth diapering, limited/no processed foods, organic, ect)
Oh, that's a kinda crunchy Mom ???
I never ever would have figured that one out, ever. I sure do like as well as admire most all of the crunchy Mom values. There just so, well healthy in SO many ways.
Hee hee.
Is the second brackets what fully crunchy is, or just kinda crunchy?
I've met a few preschoolers who have had recent encounters with newborns and their mums recently and now they 'breastfeed' their dolls!
Hey, I'm a huge breastfeeding advocate so I'm all for that, even if it can lead to some slightly embarrassing phrases being shouted out like 'I'm giving my baby booby milk'
Ahem.
Hmm.. well, the second bracket is all me, so I guess mostly crunchy. I don't consider myself full crunch, but I'm definitely not mainstream. ;)
Leah nurses her dolls, too.
I know I'm probably being really ditsy again, but I've noticed you and another blogger (MckMama) talk about co-sleeping...what is co-sleeping?
Despite all my work in women's health and pregnancy stuff I've never actually heard that phrase before.
Ha, not ditsy at all.
Co-sleeping is a pretty wide label for letting your kids sleep with you. I think it varies a ton by kid and by family
For US it meant, having Leah in a little co-sleeping type bed attached to my side of the bed when she was still nursing through the night. She was right there next to me and when she woke needing to nurse, I could be all lazy and slide her right over next to me. By about 8 months she wasn't nursing as much at night and no one was sleeping great with the arrangement anymore, so we moved her into the nursery.
For other families, cosleeping means kids all sleeping with the parents for years.
Josh was a very different kid than Leah and was quite happy just sleeping in a bassinet FAR from us until he was in his own room at 5 months old.
Both arrangements worked well for us and co-sleeping saved me lots of trips to the nursery through the night. I'm "anti" babies crying themselves to sleep when they're little, so "co-sleeping" was a good compromise that let me be lazy and my babies get what they wanted. :)
Ahhh. All makes sense. Thank you Megan!
(If I ever do have children, I'll attribute many parenting skills to you and this blog...hee hee)
